Opportunities to Train & Play

We understand everyone has a different comfort level on how to get their players back on the court. While we are still ready to offer our three levels of competitive teams, we have added a three-tier opportunity to participate. This time, your experience can be customized to align with your family's approach to this uncertain time.

Tier 1 - EVO TEam Program

Who?  Competition focused committed athletes & families.

Whats Involved? Two mandatory* practice/training sessions per week; Entry into regional tournaments once tournaments are again available.

Recommendation? This level is appropriate for families who are serious about team athletics and (more importantly) comfortable with controlled, indoor, small group participation amid the changing COVID-19 state of affairs. Families involved in this program understand and accept the increased risk of a more typical training model.

How will you make it happen? All program plans are subject to change to react to health and safety guidelines.
  • Team athletes  commit to training, inter- and intra-club playdates and will be entered into tournaments as they are available and SAFE for attendance.
  • Team players can move to another team for a specific event if that event is not happening for their team.
  • Teams will train with the same "Bubble" of kids for the duration of the season, but may be exposed to other clubs through competition as everyone becomes more comfortable with increased play and interaction.

Who?  Committed athletes who want a high level of training with more flexibility to "press pause" or alter a personal training schedule and no obligation to participate in organized tournament play.

Whats Involved? These athletes are expected to train two times per week, but have more flexibility to make an up-front, regular change to a team training schedule. These athletes are not counted in our tournament participation, but will be invited to Team practices as a first option and will be considered first to attend a tournament if there is a roster opening.

Recommendation? This is a great option for families who are unsure they are ready to jump into a regimented train and compete environment. These players also have more flexibility to change up the training piece of their week. For example, this athlete would commit to weekend training sessions, but in lieu of a weeknight practice, would be able add a "Makeup" practice - as space permits - with the Training Only Program participants

How will you make it happen? All program plans are subject to change to react to health and safety guidelines.
  • Training + Alternate athletes  will be given a recommended schedule based on the age/ability level of the player.
  • Training + Alternate athletes will be allowed to attend two weekend training sessions in lieu of a weeknight practice.
  • These players will pay a training tuition and be assessed tournament fees (Entry fee + Coach Travel fee) when they are activated for a tournament roster.

Who? Players looking to get back to the game, but only willing to commit to 6 weeks at-a-time.

Whats Involved? EVO will offer set training clinics which will be paid in full  at the beginning of every 6-week session. These clinics will be offered by age and will be divided by court participation based on ability level.

Recommendation? This program was designed with and for our families to would like their players to return to play, but are not quite ready for all the typical offerings of the typical club season.

How will you make it happen? All program plans are subject to change to react to health and safety guidelines.

  • Training athletes will choose a training time and location, and remain with that "Bubble" of players for the duration of the session.

  • Training will include instruction as well as a "league" style internal competition.

  • As our world returns to normal, Training players would be able to join other players from their training bubble to enter an end-of-year tournament, where there is interest.

  • Training Only players can migrate into option 2 as they feel more comfortable, but there would be a tuition change.

COVD-19 Regulations & Expectations

EVO Volleyball we will adhere Massachusetts "Moderate Risk Sports" safety regulations and recommendations including: physical distancing, masks and sanitization of equipment.

Our COVID-19 plan centers around providing the safest, best and most opportunity for volleyball training within our control. While we have spent months developing and testing our procedures, we believe it is importation for every family to use its own judgement, review our expectations and implement a personal family plan for on- and off-court safety.

Please review the Massachusetts Safety Guidelines as well as the most up to date USA Volleyball Response on Coronavirus.

EVO Volleyball's Policy on COVID-19 is as follows: Anyone who tests positive for COVID-19 (or is in contact with someone who has tested positive), is obligated to inform EVO Volleyball Director, Nicole Trudeau. In addition, this person will be asked to be tested and remove themselves from  any and all EVO activities (including but not limited to practice, training, camps, clinics, and team building) until they have test results. Upon receiving test results, EVO and the party of interest will and should follow the most up-to-date Massachusetts Next Steps guidelines.

Anyone with symptoms of COVID-19 are asked to err on the side of caution and quarantine according to Massachusetts guidelines.

Pivoting Schedule Plan

EVO Volleyball will be offer programming throughout the Fall, Winter, Summer and Early Spring as allowed. As usual, EVO offers different "Seasons" of training:

This is what happens when your HS team (Volleyball or another MIAA Sport) is "In Season." Players can register for Open Gym and Extra touches sessions as they have time and space permits.

This is typically the training season throughout the holidays (Nov/Dec) when people are busy. Team training has an individual/position-specific training format. While players are expected to make every effort to attend the sessions, they may receive an excused absence for family events and travel.

This is the heart of our programming. In season, players have planned training & competition. Players of all levels are expected to attend all sessions - pending COVID or quarantine restrictions. Missed practices and training sessions break down the functionality of the team and we ask that players SAFELY and COMFORTABLY participate to the best of their ability.

Youth & Middle School programs, as well as Training Only Sessions are "In-Season" throughout the duration of their season. There is always a "Pre-Season" approach during the holidays.

Typical Fall HS Sports TRAIn & PLAY CALENDAR:
September/October EVO-LITE
November/December PRE SEASON
January - May (June for National Players) IN SEASON

Delayed "Fall 2" HS SPORTS Train & Play Calendar
September-January IN SEASON PART 1
February/March EVO-LITE
April - May (June for National Players) IN SEASON PART 2

In order to allow families to commit with their hearts, while protecting their budgets, EVO has implemented a Sliding Tuition Payment Structure.

Here's how it works:
  • Every family will be quoted an expected tuition amount based on a player team/commitment level. Season fees will not exceed that quoted tuition unless a team decides to "Power Up" a program and add programming.
  • Families will pay a 1/3 tuition deposit upon acceptance of team or training placement offer. This deposit covers upfront facility, uniform and competition deposit fees.
  • Each month, families will be assessed a fee for what they use. Ie. court rentals, coach's stipend or tournament entry fees.

We worked with long time EVO families and partner clubs to develop a payment structure that is a Pay-as-you-go model to only charge families for what they are using.
